Fufu fries are chewy and dense compared to classic French fries. The flavor of fufu fries is subtle and mild with a smooth, starchy bite.

Air Fryer Fufu Fries with Spicy Ketchup

Ingredients


Prepared plantain fufu (see the easy recipe below)

Salt to taste


Directions 

Roll the fufu into a flat rectangle and chill until firm. Slice into fry-sized pieces. Lightly brush with Avocado oil for a golden finish.


Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3-5 minutes. Place the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 13-15 minutes until the fufu fries are crispy and golden brown. Season with more salt if desired and serve with spicy ketchup.


Spicy Ketchup for Fufu Fries 


To make the spicy ketchup simply take your favorite brand of ketchup add 1/2 cup to 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika, 1/2 tablespoon of red pepper flakes and 1/2 tablespoon garlic powder.

Plantain Fufu Recipe for your Fufu Fries 


Ingredients

3 green or yellow plantains

1/2 cup all-purpose flour 

1 teaspoon salt

Water for boiling


Directions

Place the peeled and evenly cut plantains in a large pot and cover with water. 


Boil until tender, approximately 20 minutes. Drain the water completely from the pot, then spread the cooked plantains on a sheet pan to cool at room temperature for one hour.


Place the salt, flour and cooled plantains in a mixer and knead until the consistency of the medium hard dough is achieved for your fufu fries.
